Arizona Masters of Poetry offers a variety of unique and affordable residencies
and workshops taught by professional artists and educators. The workshops and residencies:
- Energize student learning and motivation
- Provide youth a positive platform for introspection and self-expression
- Foster a sense of respect and help students gain perspective
- Improve relations among students and between students and teachers
- Support development of habits and skills that lead to academic and personal success, including:
- Confidence, Creativity, Empathy, and Compassion
- Public Speaking, Growth Mindset, Collaboration, and Leadership
- Are aligned to Arizona's College and Career Ready Standards
- Professionally-led student workshops (typically 6-12 workshops)
- Culminating open-mic performance at the school
- Learning opportunities for participating teacher(s), including a required training
- Team participation in Hotter Than The Sun: Arizona Youth Poetry Festival

Hotter Than The Sun: Arizona Youth Poetry Festival
Arizona Masters of Poetry is proud to host Hotter Than The Sun: Arizona Youth Poetry Festival, a new,
annual festival that brings together young people from across the Phoenix metropolitan area, in order
to break down barriers and build new bridges. In doing so, Arizona Masters of Poetry is creating a
supportive, caring community in which young people feel valued, understood, and heard.
